The Ownership structure and Flag State of motor yacht Aurelia was changed to become EU-owned and flagged to apply for a Licence for Barcelona and the Balearics.

Captain Guy Booth of M/Y AURELIA reports on his positive experience:
“The Owner of Aurelia wanted some new cruising grounds. On advice of our Charter Management, we felt an excellent opportunity existed for Aurelia within the Spanish Charter Market- the beaches are some of the best in the Med, the food is fantastic, the people are wonderful, cities like Barcelona and Palma are vibrant, clean and safe, with some of the best restaurants and marina facilities in the world, and the water here is warmer than anywhere in France or Italy.
The application process for the Spanish Charter Licence was relatively simple to be honest. We enlisted a lawyer with experience in precisely these arrangements. Once Aurelia was EU-owned and flagged, the application process for the Spanish Charter Licence was quite straight forward. Having just completed our Flag State Survey, as well as our 5-year Class survey, all that was required was submission of a long list of certificates, and to undergo a Spanish Port State Control inspection. The latter took us under an hour, with the two Spanish officers being thorough, polite, enthusiastic and helpful. If a vessel is properly documented, properly manned, well maintained, and compliant with everything that she ought to be, as Aurelia was, the whole procedure was quick and painless, and a lot cheaper than most people think.
Now, with our Spanish commercial documents in place, we, once again, have a very full charter calendar.”
